I have never seen this - because at that time New Zealand was groaning under the yoke of the Lange socialist regime and the cultural commissars forbade such activity.
Anyway, when I saw the team lists I thought that is a pretty strong NZ team but they looked pretty ordinary and didn't seem to threaten. It was a pretty squeaky win and would have been a loss if Naas hadn't missed in the last minute.
1986 may have been a couple of years to late for those guys - but lets face it - the Springboks were a better team. Just look at their backs - Naas, the du Plessis brothers, Danie Gerber - and who is that tubby guy on the wing, Jaco Ryanucker sp?
I found some footage on You Tube of Springboks tries against the Cavs and the Springboks rip them to shreds.
Would it have been different the year before - 1985 or even 1984?
