Fergi McCormick's stiff-arm on Syd Nomis Add Video

The All Blacks had to win the second rugby test at Newlands in Cape Town, South Africa in 1970, because they had lost the first test to the Springboks. It was very rough and here is the clip of the fullback Fergi McCormick's stiff-arm on Syd Nomis, Springbok wing.

As bad as the injury was, it seems to be as McCormick (who was no angel on the field!) said: his back was turned, and while he fully intended to obstruct Nomis who had kicked ahead and could have retrieved the ball and scored, it was not his intention to hit him with his elbow
